Lagomarsino Agricultural Overview

History

Heritage runs deep in the Lagomarsino farming operation. The company founder, Frank Giannini, was born in Porto Ferrajo island of Elba off the Tuscan coast of Italy. Frank took charge of his father’s vineyard at 17 and immigrated to California at 21, where he bought 160 acres of unimproved land northeast of Tulare in 1889. The family has continued to farm, expand and prosper by the diversification established by the company founder.

Farm Management

Lagomarsino Farming, LLC, started in 1998 to provide farm management as well as business and financial management for the various companies owned by the family. Lagomarsino Farming also enters into management agreements with non-family owned operations, primarily for farm management services. The company currently manages nearly 3,000 acres.

Current Operations

The Lagomarsino Farming Operations has been handed down to Frank Giannini’s great-grandson, Fred Lagomarsino. Fred has continued to guide the organization through aggressive management and diversification, while maintaining the family’s philosophy and mission. Fred proudly states, “The mission of the Lagomarsino Family is to be a leading, diversified, progressive farming company.”

Ag Labor Contractor

AgSource Services, LLC, is a farm labor contracting company started in 1998 to provide farm labor and equipment services to the various operations managed by Lagomarsino Farming, LLC. Services include all labor activities required for permanent plantings as well as packing services for fresh blueberries.
